'Bama still leads the pack. And USC is a bit overhyped. Oregon is a force to be reckoned with in the PAC10. UC is good but couldn't stand up to the elite teams in the long run. Penn State is the class in the defunct Big10. Sleeper? Pittsburgh. They play South FLA next and then face a flurry of ranked opponents. Get through that and they deserve considerable BCS attention.

SEC admits refs fvcked Arkansas.

Early Christmas for Timmy, Urban and the boys.

That was just one of about half a dozen calls UF got in the 4th... the SEC refs are terrible.

BTW, that was the same SEC crew that gave UGA the phantom celebration penalty earlier this season... those guys should be fired. I HATE it when refs blow calls that decide the outcome of a game.

Geez, Will....a little sour grapes methinks? :( The 'Horns "Couldn't have looked any worse"??? Hell yes we could have.....we could have lost the friggin' game!!

Offensively, it certainly wasn't the best effort by either team but from a physicality standpoint, that was about the hardest-hitting slobber-knocker defensive game I have seen in a long time. Both defenses were outstanding. I could sit here and make excuses about McCoy injuring his thumb and having the flu (which he did) but he certainly was not on his game. However, the OU defense had a lot to do with that....especially the first half when you guys were in the backfield after every snap. The way the defenses were playing in that game, I don't know that Bradford could have made that much of a difference. Bradford's injury certainly wasn't the reason that Murray and Brown couldn't run the ball against the Longhorn defense and your passing game is nowhere near what it was last year as far as WRs go (Broyles and nobody else).

It's just a different offense when Bradford is in the game. More snaps, the deep ball, better feel for the offense. I don't think I've ever seen Bradford make a mistake(I'm being honest). Late in the game we saw Jones throw two bad Ints that Bradford wouldn't make. Jones is still learning the game, but the future looks bright for OU.

I just find it weird that Texas' offense is taking a backseat to their defense. Texas basically has their entire offense back from last year. OU is basically rebuilding their offense, so for them to struggle shouldn't be that surprising. Texas really needs to gets their shit together.

It wasn't a pretty game by any stretch and we certainly have a lot of tightening up to do on offense but I was proud of our effort out there and I don't think you have anything to hang your head about. Championship teams need to find a way to win gritty, ugly games like this and, although I am in no way saying Texas is of that caliber, we took a big step forward by beating you guys on Saturday. I was very glad to see Marquis Goodwin get his opportunity (at last!) and he made the most of it. He's going to be a fixture in the Texas offense from now on I would say. That kid is a game-breaker. He'll be a perfect compliment to Shipley as things go forward.

By the way, it is by no means a certainty that Texas will be representing the Big 12 in the title game (Or ANY major bowl for that matter). We have a long way to go starting this week against Mizzou up in Columbia.

Good luck to you guys the rest of the way (do us a BIG favor and beat OSU, OK???)....and I hope this time Stoops has the good sense to allow Bradford to heal all the way before he rushes him back onto the field. He obviously wasn't totally healed coming into the game if his shoulder was re-injured that easily.

Oh....yes....GO 'CANES!!!!

I think we proved the Big-12 can play defense and that the Red River Rivalry is the best rivalry in the country.... and it's not even close. I can't wait for next year!

My top teams:

1. Florida
2. Alabama
3. Texas
4. Miami
5. USC(probably should be undefeated)

other than those teams... I don't really have much respect for anyone else.

Is that the only UT game you have seen this year? You aren't giving OU's defense enough credit. This game was a defensive battle so what did you expect....300 yards and 3 TDs from McCoy? Wasn't going to happen and Bradford would not have fared any better in my book (you can debate those INTs by Jones if you want....who knows what would have happened had Bradford not gotten hurt again?). Either way, the Ds carried the day for both teams.

No, we don't have our whole offense back. Our wideout situation has been in a state of flux since Quan Cosby graduated. We haven't had a legitimate threat to compliment Shipley and our running game has yet to gel with a feature back since Chris Ogbannaya left as well. The combo of Whittaker and Jones looked really good at times on Saturday so I expect that situation to solve itself. Goodwin's sudden emergence at wideout might solve a lot of issues regarding the receiving corps. Also, The O-line needs to play better as a unit than they did in the first half against OU. However, I was proud of the way they stiffened against the Sooner D-line in the second half. Mack Brown (well....Muschamps and Davis really!) knows what he's doing so I'm not too concerned....yet.

This game was the first true test for UT and we came out on top so I'm good with it. Hell, we're #3 in the nation and if we can find a way to win out....well, you know what SHOULD happen.

Keep your chin up. OU has had a lot of tough luck this year with injuries and they have played some really good teams that beat them. I agree...the future is bright. OU will ALWAYS be a power as long as the school administrators don't fuck it up by making Stoops a scapegoat because he is one of the best....if not THE best....coaches in college football.

Trust me, I think the Broncos, I mean Oklahoma, has one the best defenses in the nation. I'm just trying to look at it from a Texas perspective. This is their first true test this season and it didn't look so good. They can expect the same if the play an Alabama or Florida in the title game. But, like I said earlier, hopefully they build from this.

BTW Texas' next game is against Missouri, you must be pretty torn.

Okie is in a tough position. Do you shut Bradford down for the rest of the season and begin "next season's" planning by playing Landry Jones? Or do you give Bradford a chance to play to keep in shape for the NFL Draft? :dunno:

I think Iowa's luck will be running out in East Lansing. Maildude's Spartys are going to knock them out.

Finally the Trojans get a home game. Next up---time to put a revenge beatdown on Beaver Brothers---Quizz and ??? I hope we run up the score like the Patriots :thefinger

Not really. A Mizzou win doesn't do a lot....they will end up like 7-4 or 6-5 and probably go to the Weedeater Bowl or something similar. Texas has national title hopes on the line. It'll be "Hook 'em" all the way on Saturday.

It's time to move on, on both sides. It's been a great run with Sam and his success with OU. We watched one of our own, Blake Griffin go to the NBA. Now, it's for Sam to get his. I hope both have great success at the next level.

As for OU, we need to start building our team of the future. We got Landry who looks like a capable QB, if not, OU already has a commit from one best High School QB in the country. It looks like we have a good young cast, my only concern is with the O-line(they need to do a total 180).

Case Keenum
Ryan Mathews

...and Ndamukong Suh. Good call, rwill!! :D

Yes....Keenum is putting up monster numbers at U of H. Good call but he'll never get it....small conference program. Suh is also an interesting call....I can't remember the last time a defensive player won the award (Charles Woodson maybe???). The guy is a fucking beast.

On a side note, Ryan Mallett (sophomore Arkansas QB) is probably the best raw talent I have seen in a LONG time as it applies to NFL potential. The kid is 6' 7" and weights 250 lbs. and has a fucking rifle for an arm. He's going to be highly prized by the time he is a junior or senior. He made a pass in the Florida game that was a fucking 40 yard laser that was right on the button. Keep an eye on this guy. He's special.
